Financial support

We welcome support in promoting our activities in any of the following ways:

  • Establishing a named centre of research and studies (£1,000,000)

 

Supporting MESC Members

  • Hold book celebrations to cherish books published by MESC members (£2,000 per annum)
  • Enabling MESC members to attend pertinent conferences in the UK and abroad (£10,000 per annum)
  • Supporting Members’ research activities (interviews, questionnaires, computing needs, publications) (£20,000 per annum)

 Supporting MESC activities

  • Inviting 6-8 guest lecturers (scholars, diplomats, politicians) per year from the United Kingdom (£5,000 per annum)
  • Inviting 2-3 lecturers (scholars, diplomats, politicians) from abroad (£5,000 per annum)
  • Hold Annual Lecture in Middle East Studies (£4,000 per annum). Past lecturers were Lord Trimble, Lord Williams, Dr Emile Chabal, Professor David Drewry, and Professor Sir Lawrence Freedman.
  • Hosting The Ambassador Forum to which we will invite 2-3 ambassadors each year to present their countries’ views (£5,000 per annum)

Supporting students and scholar-exchange

  • 4 MA Scholarships in Middle East Studies (£20,000 each), bringing students from different parts of the world to work together, i.e. from Israel and Palestine
  • 1 Doctoral Scholarship (£20,000 per annum for 3 years = £60,000)
  • 1-2 Post-Doc for one or two years (£30,000 per annum each)
  • 1-2 Visiting Scholars (£15,000 each per annum)

Administration

  • Administrator (50%) (£18,000 per annum)
  • Web master (50%) (£3,000 per annum).
